Dave finished college and served for a year as youth director at Knox Presbyterian Church in Spokane, WA, before enrolling at Fuller Seminary in 1986, and graduating with a Master of Divinity degree in 1989. In 1988 he met Nanette when they were both team members on a mission trip to Thailand. Little did he know at that time that they would be married three years later in Anchorage, Alaska! |

Upon graduation from Fuller in 1989 Dave was called by Trinity Presbyterian Church in Anchorage to serve as the Associate Pastor for Youth and Family Ministry, a position he would stay in for nine years. God blessed these years in countless ways, both in a growing ministry in the congregation and among youth, and personally. Dave and Nanette were married in November, 1991 and their first child, Lydia, was born in 1996. It was rewarding to see youth and adults trust Jesus and grow as His disciples! Dave’s personal prayer life and walk with Christ deepened too. |

After being called to serve with Presbyterian Reformed Ministries International (PRMI) as Director of Youth Ministries, Dave, Nanette and Lydia moved to Black Mountain, NC in January of 1999. More blessings came as God added two sons/brothers to the family. Identical twins Ezekiel and Zakris were born in August, 1999. Dave’s ministry with PRMI gave him many opportunities to minister to youth and adults in congregations, camps and retreats, conferences and college campuses. This involved nationwide travel and occasionally took him overseas. For four years he also was involved in efforts to bring Biblical renewal to the Presbyterian Church at General Assembly. |

Dave’s vision for ministry centers on inviting and equipping people to grow in worshipping God the Father in Spirit and Truth and following Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit. There is no greater adventure than a life-long participation in the Great Commandment and the Great Commission! Dave says he thanks God for calling him to serve at La Mesa Presbyterian Church and can hardly wait! |

Nanette grew up on Whidbey Island, Washington State. As a child and teenager she was active in sports, academics and her church. When she was a teenager she became interested in cross-cultural missions, a passion which endures today. At Wheaton College she majored in Sociology, played on the volleyball team and was active in the World Christian Fellowship. After graduation she briefly studied Uzbek – the language of Uzbekistan, a Muslim country in Central Asia which was formerly a republic of the USSR. At that time she explored the possibility of long-term missionary service there. In 1990 she came to Alaska to work for a summer in the youth ministry at Trinity Presbyterian Church. She was asked to stay and work with both the church youth group and an outreach ministry called Young Life, which she did. She and Dave were married in Anchorage in 1991. Dave says that Nanette is an accomplished athlete, a great mom and an incredible home school teacher! |

Lydia was born October 15, 1996 in Anchorage Alaska. As a home-schooled second grader she is enjoying studying many subjects including medieval history. She loves Jesus and enjoys Bible memorization. She is studying piano using the “Suzuki” method and loves reading Amercan Girl stories and playing with American Girl Dolls in her spare time. She looks forward to playing soccer and basketball in La Mesa, and to being involved in the growing children’s ministry at LMPC! |
